Tuesday. October 2nd. 7:00 am.
I was more comfortable than I had been all week. Laying there in my bed...wrapped in my sheets, the design of which could not be appreciated by anyone who hasn't fallen as deeply into the realm of insanity as myself. To be honest, it was very peaceful. The sun had not yet peaked over the eastern sky. My body at rest. My mind at ease. My lover at my side.
Wait...What was that last part?
Was there somebody else in my bed? It was certainly possible. I was scrunched up to one side of my bed, too frightened to check behind me. I heard something. There was definitely a sound. Something I couldn't put my finger on. What was it? Singing? Yes. Somebody was...ah! That's what it was. Micheal Jackson.
Micheal Jackson had started his daily power ballad...so I knew it was time to wake up. Technology these days. It's gotten to the point where I am unable to distinguish a stereo from an alarm clock. Unable to tell if a set alarm is waking me up at 7:00 every morning, or if I'm about to be molested by MJ and singing is his way of giving me a heads up. Scary. In any case, it was time to start my last Tuesday before fall break.
Breakfast: For God's sake! It's 7:00 in the morning! I'll be damned if I'm going to wake up any earlier than I have to! The only way breakfast would be possible before my botany lecture, would be if I woke up at around 6, and that's not happening. Sorry people. No breakfast.
Lunch: Ok. So I don't have an excuse this time. I skipped lunch as well. I simply was running low on time, and lacked much of an apatite. Instead I headed to the internet cafe. Once there, I got myself a cup of coffee, and a cheese danish. Not the most nutritious of lunches, but it was a damn good danish. And a damn good cup o' Joe! So while I'm sure I could have made a healthier choice, I stand by my decision, as it reminded me of the sweet life at Borders or the BFD.
Dinner: Alright, here's where it gets interesting. Seeing as I didn't really eat all day, I was famished at around 5:00 or so. So me and my loyal sidekick of a roommate headed down to the dining hall. Now, I had not been here all day. I was unaware of what wonders were to come forth! It turns out that today, October 2nd, is the Apple Festival! Hoboy! My eyes widened. My heart skipped beats! It didn't even matter that I'm not completely obsessed with apples, at that point in time, apples were my favorite food! Deep fried apples! Candy Apples! Apple Pie! Apple Cider! Little apple slices covered in something that I don't know what it was! Oh, it was spectacular! And better yet...it was rice bar day! Even the rice bar was customized to the Apple Festival, as they had little bits of apples to add to your rice dish! Certainly the best trip to the rice bar I've ever had! I even put some apple slices in my salad! It didn't taste very good, but it's Apple Festival damnit!! Oh boy was I excited! I wish I went to all three meals, so I could have three times the excitement I had at that moment! Oh, I haven't been so full in a long time...when low and behold, on the way out, they had crates of apples! It was one of those grab as many as you can carry type deals, and I did just that! My fridge is now half lime-tea, and half apples! Apple festival? Oh no! Apple week!
Late Night: For late night today, we were over at New Bill's hallway, and he and Jesse talked us into going to the Cove. Now...I personally am a fan of the Galley. But I ended up giving in and headed to the Cove. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Their selection was severely lacking when compared to the Galley's, and the lack of real food was discouraging. But nonetheless, I bought a cinnamon covered soft pretzel and two candy bars for some other time. At least the pretzel was good.
And that being said, I'm off to go have my midnight apple and head to bed only to wake up to Micheal Jackson singing softly into my ear. How disturbing.
