Japanimation...Not Quite at it's Best.

Alright, let's rock!
While I actually haven't had dinner yet, I'm assuming that it will be well on its way through my digestive tract by the time this blog is finished!
Well, as a few of you may know, I did come home this weekend. Just what the hell is going on here? How, after not returning home for over a month, can I end up coming home nearly 3 weekends in a row? What strange phenomenon, of equal or greater caliber than Neshaminy Homecoming, could drag me home? That's right.

Anime.

Beautifully described by Erik as Otakon 2, this anime convention is held once a year at Bucks County Community College. It's true name is Shikkaricon, but I feel like a complete dumbass when saying that outloud, so I think Otakon 2 works for all intents and purposes. While interesting, it unfortunately was not all it was cracked up to be, and I enjoyed last years con much better. Spanning a grand total of about...3 rooms, this convention was not much in the size department. In fact, I was practically done with it in the first half hour! How some people stayed there for over 8 hours is beyond me.

Oh wait...that's right...they were all anime fangirls! The most annoying sound in the known Universe is the shrilling cry of an amused 13 year old anime fangirl when someone mentions Inuyasha. Needless to say, my brain began pounding and throbbing in my skull...a headache which I still suffer from as I write! But as any Onion doing something stupid and completely not worth it, I stuck in there! It actually got a lot better, and I ended up glad I went.
Worth coming home for?
Definitely not!

Breakfast: Well, I woke up around 9 this morning and started getting prepared to head off to Otakon 2. I tried to get a hold of Amie, as we were planning on going together to the convention. She showed up halfway through the con last year, so we decided we might as well just go together this time! Unfortunately, I couldn't get a hold of her all morning. Pity. In the midst of preparation, my father generously made me two pieces of the best tasting french toast I'd ever tasted! Loaded with butter, it made more than a fitting breakfast for a busy day.

Lunch: At lunch time I was at the convention. One of the first locations I headed for was of course the gaming room! They had quite a few competitions going on; Soul Calibur 3, Halo 3, Naruto 3, and Super Smash Bros Melee! Naturally, the only one I was interested in was Smash Bros! UNFORTUNATELY, everyone else was thinking the same as I was, as the tournament was filled by the time I got there. Bastards! They didn't let me join!
It was fun to watch though. Everyone had a unique style of playing, and everyone seemed to have a different character. Everyone from Donkey Kong to Fox! I saw them all! They were all fairly mediocre players, and I feel I would have stood more than a chance had I been entered. However, the champion of the tournament was simply AMAZING! The final match was none other than Dr. Mario and...by popular demand...Mr. Game and Watch! Oh yes! It was the most amazing match I've ever seen, and I expect it might be on YouTube(ptpt) in the near future! I think Mr. Game and Watch was toying with Dr. Mario...losing three lives early on...making everyone think Game and watch was a bad choice. Then he made an amazing comeback...using every weapon in Game and Watch's vast arsenal along with unimaginable skill! They were both down to their last life and were each well over 125% damage. Then, after dodging a furious series of attacks from Dr. Mario, Mr. Game and Watch landed one smash attack and won the tournament! Mr. Game and Watch won a Smash Bros tournament?! Impossible! Nay, incredible! I gave that man the biggest high five ever!

Oh right, food! Well after being disappointed at my inability to compete, I took a walk over to the Ramen noodle bar they had going. The concept of which was that you pay for a bowl of Ramen noodles, and then you bought whatever ingredients you wished to add. It was a bit bland, but good nonetheless! I think half of my liking of it came from the excitement of watching them make it! Afterwards, I bought some Pocky from a vendor and a cherry coke from the vending machines. A lunch which any anime fan would consider a feast!

Dinner: Well, I was right! Unless it found a hiding place somewhere along the way, my dinner is already in my stomach! For dinner today, my family made fried chicken and baked potatoes. Now, anyone who knows me knows that baked potatoes are quite possibly my favorite food in the world. Packed with butter and salt, it is easily the best thing I've ever eaten! While I'd like to say I had over 9000 (like Vegeta's power level), that might be a bit of an exaggeration. Oh well. The point is, it was spectacular. And now, unless something else comes up, I suppose I will complete this Japanese influenced day by watching some more anime! Magnificent!
