Strange day. Really strange day. This was one of those days that start out with endless possibilities and hope yet ends with wasted potential. That's not to say this was a bad day -- just a boring one with way too much procrastination. I woke up at around 10 this morning, really early for me on a Sunday. What do I do? Shower maybe? Take advantage of an early morning? No, I play Super Smash Bros. till 1:30 in the afternoon, completing a variety of the Challenges, many of which came in the form of the tedious Multi-Man Brawls. Ughh. It was still Brawl, so it was amazing, but I sort of liken it to eating the skin of a baked potato. Everyone loves baked potatoes, but really, the good stuff is the starch and butter.
Shortly thereafter, I get a knock on my door from my dear co-host Cory "Knobs," who desperately wants to eat. A bunch of us head over to the Spit at around 2.
Lunch:
For the first time in a very long time, the Spit had actual non-breakfast food for lunch on a weekend. I had some surprisingly good pasta with sauce and cheese in additon to corn on the cob! Corn on the cob at the Spit? I never I thought I'd live to see the day. Overall, the meal was very satisfying.
The afternoon consisted of me playing Smash when I knew I should be doing some Spanish homework. It sort of ruins the whole fun of playing when you torture yourself with the thoughts of responsibility. Jon Mayer came down and we played for an hour or two. After he left, I went out and made a few phone calls to catch up with some old pals, which took about half an hour in total.
I return to my room to find our dear old friend and true Fat Dan online. I propose that we try to connect online for Smash again, as our previous day's efforts finished unfulfilled. By the merit of Dole, we actually got connected, and I had the pleasure of dueling Mr. BFD. I started off strong with a Dedede victory on the nifty Electroplankton stage, but it sort of went downhill from there for me. I guess my Ridley profile icon wasn't intimidating enough today (that's right, Ridley may have been snubbed from the playable roster, but I still love him).
This all happened while the NCAA Tournament selections were going on, and I'm proud to say one character (or team) that wasn't snubbed was Villanova! That's my school! After the fun with Fat Dan was over, I went back to more tedious Multi Man Brawl kakah, including the 15 Minute Brawl, which was a pain in the ass to beat. I died on it once with 16 seconds to go. 16! I was so pissed off, but beat it on my next try.
Lo and behold, I managed to waste the entire day! It was 8:30, and people began stirring for a trip to Connelly for dinner before 10 o clock mass.
Dinner:
I wanted a fried chicken sandwhich, but they were out of rolls. So I just ate a hunk of fried chicken with no roll along with some fries. Nothing too special here. I then ate some nice Palm Sunday Jesus about an hour and a half later or so, which was especially tasty. I also got a leaf at the beginning of Church, which I fooled around with the entire service as if I were a five year old! Onion!
Can't wait till Easter break...
