How fitting that I would get to blogg on my first borns day of birth. I thought of giving a play by play of Ians birth, like Ray Cancilla and the Bio end of the year party at Mrs. Donahues , but, I decided against it, then I thought of going to the BFD and having a party without the lad. No Camera.
So I just went about my business as usual instead but Ian did cross my mind many times on this day.
20 years ago today, I had Ian at 4:31 Am. I was starving!! after but I had to wait to eat until like 7 but when I did eat it was the best meal I ever had in my whole life.
So they bought me coffee, oatmeal, milk, eggs and a peice of toast. And that was hospital food too! They say giving birth uses the energy of running a marathon and I was THAT hungry so I think I would have eaten cardboard at that point. Who care what he ate!
So today, I had coffee, egg beaters and the usual wheat toast.
Went to a boring day of work where I did nothing most of the day but surf the interweb. I went to botany .com and checked out Jon Don. Because a life without Botony is a life without children.
Lunch I came home and made some tuna fish with hardly any mayo! it was gross.
I thought if how Ian changed all of our lives just by being in it. Ian is the most interesting creature I have ever encountered and he ALWAYS had a mind of his own. With all the arguing he did with me, and it was just for entertainment on his part I assure you, because the arguments were just stupid, I thought Ian might be a lawyer. You know how lawyers are, they remember every detail you utter and then use it against you somewhere down the line Well, Ian was THAT talented! He memorized movie lines at age 3. An unbelievable memory.
Heard a really interesting song called" Lonely Town" by the Mosquitos in the car on the way home for lunch. Had to download it. He refered to a cup of coffee as a cup of Mud. I liked that. But the song was also really cool. Heard it on WPRB. If it werent for that station I would go insane everyday listening to B101. When you listen to that station its as if you are somplace else, you know like if you trvleing and at a restaurant and a song comes on, even if you don't personally like it or wouldnt choose to play it, you would still listen to it and it might grow on you or a memory might become attatched to that song and experience.
Back for the rest of the boring day. Ran out of there at 5 and off to Rednecks, I mean Redners where I purchased the magnificent feast represented on my table tonight. Burbon Chicken, Idaho spuds(dont tell momma, there not from scratch) and broccoli! Also bought Famous Amos cookies. YUM. I don't know about you but I cannot help wondering about the people who work at Rednecks. I watch them out of the corner of my eye when they don't realize I am looking. I think to myself, what is this boy going to do with his life? Hes made it to this age and can barely do this job. I know its mean and judgemental. then I bash myself the whole way home. Oh well, I love to food shop. And to think I raised two children.
So, Ian is now 20 years old. He went from being a Red Headed helpless infant to a sword-wrangling, powerwheels driving, batman, writer of 007 stories, video game addict, Otakon traveling, coffee drinking, Borders living, beatnick diner occupying, artist. that's it wrapped in a nutshell. Please fell free you add your own interpretation
Ian this one is for you.
If i wasnt for you life just wouldnt be the same. I wouldnt be blogging here, Ide neve have known any of you. Ide have never gone to the Princeton Plasma Lab.

Very touching. Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe this has to do with Ian's destiny, but I noticed that this post both starts with a reference to the Science Club (Ray Cancilla at the summer party) and ends with one (Science Bowl at Princeton). Hmmm.
You forgot meth addict.
you know you loved that recount of Rays birth eric
Ganalf the Gray is now Gandalf the White!
Bonne fete to my favorite Gael!
Haha, there was a lot of crazy stuff that went on in Science Club, Mrs. G, but Ray telling us a minute by minute account of his birth had to be one of the wierdest. God, I miss Ray Cancilla!
