What An Eventful Day!

Today was quite eventful. Quite eventful indeed. (Replace the word eventful with RETARDED whenever it is mentioned. I can't be responsible for any grammatical errors this may cause.) I awoke on this eventful day with a big yawn, as I had not slept through the night. I woke up roughly every hour or two and then had to force myself back to sleep. No easy task. When I wake up I find it very hard to get back to sleep.

Anyway! I rushed on down to history, my favorite class and had myself a big heaping dose of The Second Industrial Revolution! How exciting. Ironically that comes off as cynical when I actually am interested in it.

But then the real eventful things started happening...I went over to Harbold Hall to pick my lottery number, which could be any number up to 500. I drew 98. Pretty good. That pretty much allows me to pick anywhere on campus I want to live. Most of my friends here however drew extremely high numbers so, it was quite the twist of fate.

After this was done I headed back to the dorm to see Firetrucks, Police Cars, and Ambulances GALORE! Strange, nothing exciting happens here...I BETTER INVESTIGATE! Heading over to one of the firemen I asked what was going on. He told me that there was smoke detected in the English Building and they believed that there may be a fire. Also, independent from that incident there was a student on campus who had threatened a few people and the police were looking for him. Turns out that eventful kid had a gun. Eventful sonofabitch caused more problems after that too. I got back to the dorm to find the halls empty. I knocked on the doors and no one would answer, Brian (my neighbor) opened his door finally and let me in. Kevin was already in there and they told me that they had gotten a message (The MU Alert) saying get inside and lock your doors. I thought that was odd but described what I was told.

However that would not stop me from eating so I had something to write about for this blog! Me, Kevin, Brian, and Tim headed over to the caf, completely disregarding the stay inside and lock your doors messages. When we got there we saw people inside but the doors were locked. We looked right at the eventful lady at the cash register and she didn't budge. Kevin proceeded to do his hungry dance and one of the cooks at the caf let us in. At least someone cares about our well being. We got in and they proceeded to barricade the doors and lock them. We were stuck in there for TWO HOURS doing nothing. Apparently that eventful kid had a gun, and was wandering about. I for one, am glad that the ignorance of people didn't follow me from Maple Point where I first became aware of it, to the High School where it matured and became even worse, and now here, where people take ignorance to a new level. EVENTFUL EVENTFUL EVENTFUL!

We were finally released and life went about as usual. I went to english, got out, went to dinner.

Breakfast: NOOOOOOOOTHINGGGGGGGGG

Lunch: Chicken Tenders, and cookie dough ice cream, mmmm.

Dinner: Chicken Parm and corn bread that was literally hard as a rock.

That was the end of my eventful day, chock full of eventful people to ruin it. Super Dooper. About time to do some zoology and go pick where I'm going to live next year.

Good post, Daniel. However, I must question the legitamicy of it. Being April 1st, there are a few things that might prove to be faulty:

1. That there was a gunman at all, and you knowingly lied about it here.

And the more awesome possibility...

2. This MU Alert in and of itself was an April Fool's Joke predicated by the school, and all the staff was in on it. Now THAT would be a riot.
