YOU CHOSE TO MAKE THAT CHOICE

Tonight was definitely a night of firsts...

My morning was rather blase. I studied calc until 4ish when Stacey and her mom came over.

That is when the fun firsts began.

1.) I got my first drunken call from a friend this morning! Now usually when I talk to this friend, my first or second question is "Are you drunk?" which she thinks is hilarious because she is generally sober. So she thought it rather funny to call me when she WAS actually drunk. Sadly, I was sleeping when she called me (it was around 2....generally I am awake, but that night I wanted to turn in early) and was roused by Amy Winehouse belting out that she was no good. In my half-sleep state, I agreed with her.

2)I paid money (via Dragoncard...so not ACTUALLY money) to the dining hall for a visitor meal, instead of doing what I normally do, which is sneak my ID over so that they can get in for free. But ever since I got caught doing that when Maggie was here, my confidence was much shaken. So I did it the legal way.

3).) I wandered in Philadelphia without specifically map-quested directions. It was a nice, stress-free way to get to the Acadamy of Music. And if you are too busy making sure that you are walking 0.02 miles west, you won't hear the random tidbits of conversation, like my favorite one that I heard today. "You chose to make that choice!" Classic words my friend, classic...

4)) I went to my first concert!!!! Feist was INCREDIBLE!! Seriously she made like zero mistakes! AND she sings really well. And she was so charming too. My favorite quote was when she was like "I will be on the Stephen Colbert show tomorrow night and I've been nervous for two weeks. What if he asks me about candidates? I'm from Canada!" It was very cute, especially since it's called the Colbert Report, NOT the Stephen Colbert show (ugh it works for Jon Stewart...but NOT Colbert). But I can overlook it for Feist because she really was THAT good. I was so happy she played my favorite song "So Sorry." :D

5.) I encored someone for the first time. Usually, I am very happy when people are done performing and I am the first one out the door. But seriously dudes, Feist deserved to be encored. Props to Stacey for letting me in on the whole encoring thing. It is generally inconceivable for me to want someone to come back and perform more. (Keep in mind I'm talking about 3rd grade violin concerts and talent shows for teens).

6.) I took a cab home! The best part was hailing it. Second best was actually being IN a speeding car, rather than being gunned down by one (oh the woes of a pedestrian!) Oh and third best was not walking around late at night along the dark bits of Chestnut Street.

Mad, MAD, props to Stacey Gerlach and Mrs. Gerlach for sponsoring this night of firsts, as I had a marvelous time. Anyway, onto the food:

Breakfast/Brunch: 2 cups of coffee with 2 meat samosas (mmmmmm)
Lunch: i think i had some popcorn...and some dry honey bunches of oats
Dinner: The stupid dining hall was shutting down! So I had some salad WITHOUT a lot of the country french dressing that I want because the girl in front of me TOOK all of it. Cruel lady! Don't you know that there are some people in the world who are too scared to try other dressings? That some people can only stand brightly colored dressings???? Well now you know. So next time, don't hog all the French. Thanks
Snack: Raspberry danish during the concert. Stacey would kill me if it got all over her purse. So it's happy that that didn't happen.
Midnight snack: shall remain blank until that issue is resolved.

The Ciara Center is twinkling gold, my favorite setting, so you know, it really has been a good day...
