Summer Reading that spills into Fall

Early in the Summer I had written a list of books I want to read before the end of the year. I realize now that this feat is pretty much impossible considering there are nearly 20 titles on the list! I mean sure I guess I could read them all but, they aren't the shortest books, and I don't have all the free time in the world, but hey! I'll do my best. I've noticed that every year I've made a list of books to read, and thinking back I've done a relatively good job at keeping at it. I remember I used to hate reading and writing, but now I LOVE IT. Hell more often than not if I have a few minutes to myself I find myself writing books of my own (whether they will ever go anywhere is another thing), or reading the literary classics.

The list this year looks like this:

Crime and Punishment - Dostoevsky (started this, but I want to wait until winter to get into it)
We The Living - Rand (Started this too, but stopped 30 pages in)
The Lucifer Effect - Zimbardo
Catch-22 - Heller (Started this and It was good, but I had to bring it back to the library)
A Tale of Two Cities - Dickens
The Catcher in the Rye - Salinger (which I just started yesterday)
Heart of Darkness - Conrad (Started it, it was slow and had to take it back with Catch-22)
Paradise Lost - Milton
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - Stevenson
Anthem - Rand (again)
The Brothers Karamazov - Dostoevsky (again)
Slaughterhouse-Five - Vonnegut
The Grapes of Wrath - Steinbeck (I hate Steinbeck, but this is supposed to be good)
The Virgin Suicides - Eugenides
War and Peace - Tolstoy
Moby Dick - Melville (white whale, holy grail)
The Beast - Benchley (I LOVED JAWS, so I have to get more Peter Benchley)
The Prince - Machiavelli
The Jungle - Sinclair

Like I said, pretty lengthy, huh?

Anyway, about my day. I awoke at 8:30 and got ready for school. I left around 9 and walked into class around 9:20. Dr. Vinson came in around 9:30 and started his history lecture. I love that man, he keeps me interested the whole time and is very entertaining. He gave us a take home test today, which I completed in less than 20 minutes. It was easy, but I'm not complaining. After class I headed back home real quick to grab my application to Barnes and Noble and I rushed off to hand it in. I'm really hoping I get that job, I need one desperately.
I went to my Grandmom's for a few minutes after I got back from Barnes and Noble and we chatted about classes and such. She actually had my current History teacher when she went back to school a few years ago. I also found out that Mer's mom had him as well. Small world.
Anywho, I didn't eat all day until around 3 p.m.

Lunch: That was when I ate half a bag of trailmix which was delicious. My mom got me addicted to them, I also made a Fajita.

My sister had softball practice...Again...so I had to fend for myself for dinner.

Dinner: I was domestic for the second night in a row and made a glorious Caesar salad and I made chicken nuggets which I also love. I can eat those things all day long, I swear. I washed it all down with some milk.
Mer told me a few months ago that I drank too much soda so I being stupid, started drinking one soda a day instead of like 3 and replaced them all with water and milk. I miss soda sometimes. But water is just as good I suppose. At least she didn't say I drank too much coffee. I haven't had coffee in a few days but I could sure go for some. I had at least three cups of it every night over the summer. Those were good times.

I want to read some more of Ayn Rand's works too...the only one I've read is "Atlas Shrugged," which I liked.

Most of the books on your list are on mine too, and are equally unread :)
