Snowhead / Jughead

That smooth, soothing melody that plays when my phone recieves a text message went off at 6 AM this morning. Hearing that could only mean one thing. I quickly looked at the message, and sure enough, it was from the Villanova Alert System. The University will be closed throughout the duration of the day. No classes! I love snow.

I woke up a little before eleven and promptly readied myself for a day with few responsibilities. I did my laundry with relative ease, to my surprise. Surely everyone else in the building would want to take advantage of an off day to do their laundry. But no, I had an empty washer and empty dryer in succession.

Lunch:
A little later, the gang and I trudged through the snow covered roads to the Pit for some grub. The lunch special, a pork sandwich, was surprisingly satisfying. I even went back for seconds.

Being the good student that I am, I took advantage of the snow day to complete the rest of my work for the week. The weekend is only a few easy strides away now.

Dinner:
For dinner, Vinny suggested we order delivery, which was quite the good idea, I should add. We called this place called Chris' Grill and I got a cheeseburger with french fries. I wasn't sure how good it would be, but it blew my expectations out of the water. It was a juicy burger with a lot of flavor and color, served on a soft, tasty bun. A fine effort indeed!

When I was finished eating, I eagerly awaited for Lost to start. I even watched the enhanced version of the second hour of last week's episode at 8. A whole bunch of people came over to catch the new episode at nine, including Jeremy, who has only seen through Season 2. Suffice to say, he had no idea what was going on.

Some highlights:
-Charles Widmore was on the island with the Hostiles / Others!

-Richard visits Locke when he's a baby because future Locke told him to!

-Desmond's kid is named Charlie!

-And, almost certainly, Ms. Hawking is Daniel Faraday's mother. Widmore telling Desmond that the mother is in LA (which is where the Oceanic 6, Ben, and Ms. Hawking were last episode) confirms this in my mind. Interesting, though, is what people are saying about the blonde chick with the Hostiles who went with Daniel to the bomb on the Island. Daniel said something to the extent of, "You look familiar." Could that chick be Ms. Hawking, his own mother? Adding credibility to that theory is that in the enhanced episode (basically, a "pop up video," with fun tidbits) that aired at 8, in the scene with Ms. Hawking at the end, it was confirmed that her full name is "Eloise Hawking." What's the name of the blonde chick on the Island? Ellie.

Very solid episode.

I agree very much, Sir Mayer. Widmore being on the island blew my mind the most, and I was happy that the baby was named Charlie until I realized it could also be named that for Penny's dad.

Yeah man who saw that coming? But there's no way Desmond and Penny would call their baby after Widmore. It was definitely Charlie. He was the one that sort of brought them together in the Looking Glass station, what with talking to Penny and preventing Desmond from dying with him and all....

Locke is way out of control. He just is with his "my people" and "the island" and "jacob sent me."

Poor Daniel Faraday. Hope things with Charlotte work out...I hated her, but if Faraday likes her...well, what can I do but sit back and take it in?

That's what she said.

Desmond and Penny are going to LA to find Ms. Hawking...

Who was with Ms. Hawking the last time we saw her? Ben.

Who does Ben want to kill to get even with Widmore? Penny.

Yikes, I'm scared now.

i remembered that ben wanted to kill penny too!! but i didn't even think about that till now. Do you think he'll make good on his threat? oh no!

at least we know that widmore was a bad apple from the start!

and richard wears eyeliner hahahahahahaha

(ps, sawyer + juliet (a sweet mix of classic American Mark Twain and epic Shakespeare) = totally meant to be

Yeah, Penny's not going to make it. Which kills me. She's my favorite secondary character. And Desmond's my favorite primary character. And it's going to kill him, and so it's also going to kill me.

I flippin' hate Ben. Like seriously. Even Widmore sometimes has moments of humanity.

I don't get why everyone loves Penny so much. My roomies are the same way. I only like her cause Desmond likes her.

Idk...I think I'd take Ben over Widmore. Ben can be a douche but he's rather witty. And, well, he has his moments of humanity as well. Or at least a good explanation as to why he is what he is.

You're right to an extent, Anna. Penny is such a big deal to the audience because she's such a big deal to Desmond. However, if she was some throwaway chick without any sort of likable qualities, I doubt Desmond's intense passion for her would be as believable. There's been nothing quite as stirring as the phone call scene on the freighter, or their reunion in last year's finale.

As far as Ben goes, I can't help but feel some sympathy for him. He has definitely had his share of unfortunate turns of events, especially last season.

first of... that video is awesome.. the one from monday... also are we skipping fat dan entirely... is it my turn???

Dbenyishay said...

Yup, skip me. (In the interest of continuity, you see.) I might randomly post sometime in the next week to make up for it though.

Also, fuck Ben. Any terrible events he suffered through in his childhood were simply the doings of a righteous vigilante from the future (perhaps Desmond) who traveled back in time to retroactively punish Ben. For what he had already done.

I was kidding about the whole time travel thing until I remembered that ever since last season, Time Travel plot devices are not outlandish...

First, Professor Nesto. I watched Lost today, it was excellent. But you go to Villanova University and we just had our biggest victory of the past 3 years on Wednesday night and it did not merit a single mention in your blog? Erik, that is unacceptable.

Hahaha, oh you right, you right.

awww poor ben! having his father accusing him of killing his mother...the spurned love of juliet...etc. Not saying what he does is right, but he loved Alex( even if he stole her) and is thus capable for some human emotion besides anger and vengeance.
