This title is very fitting for my blog this week.
Just ask my family.
It all began last week actually, Wednesday night. I was doing a TON of laundry and had it piled sloppily into piles on the floor by color, ie whites colors, jeans, etc.
I was also watching this movie in the other room starring Adam Sandler and Don cheatle.
"Reign on me" was the title. Takes place in Manhattan. Adam plays a 911 widower former dentist whose live has just fallen apart after he lost his wife and 3 daughters and poodle in one of the 911 planes that crashed. He witnessed the plane via TV, hitting the tower which naturally had destroyed him completely.
Don cheatle plays an old college roomate whose life is going well pretty much, until he gets reacquainted with his old pal who now looks and acts like he's 19. 9It's the only way he can cope now is to live in a time before family. he cannot think about his family at all so he skteboards and plays video games and goes to movies day and night and lives off his insurance money(After all , who wan'ts a dentist who acts like this working on you anyway? Well maybe you guys actually, come to thing of it.
so anyway, this is such a great movie it was noteworthy, watch it.
So as usual, I am always doing 500 things at once and always very quickly. I happened to be in my work out pants and sneakers I might mention. I had planned on thinking baout possibly getting air in my bike tires and going riding, flushing out the mothballs from the winter...
So into the laundry room I went an I slipped on a hanger, cleverly hidden under some of the clothes and I went flying, into a twisted heap, banging into the dryer. I cried like an infant and Bill had to come help me untwist myself to get off my butt.
it hurt like hell, I pulled every muscle in my lower right leg and I have been sore for a week.
So.... when that nice weather came this weekend, did I take it easy?
Hell no!
I went outside and basked in the sun and cleaned up the yard and prepared my garden beds for "things'.
There was digging with tools and weeding and bending at the waist, bagging stuff.
there was also drinking tea in the sun and trying to get my hair to lighten up so it would match the hair clip I bought that was to light for my hair to blend in.
We had a glorious day outside after the long winter ad it was a pizza night. Who can cook after all that AND Emma was on tv! I was having a banner time. The only bad thing I can say is hat there was pepperoni on the Entire pizza instead of half like we asked for
The next day, another banner, Barnes & noble, books, carmel machiatos, driving to New Hope, walking through New Hope, falling in front of a million people in New hope. Getting picked up by strangers in New Hope.
SCCRUUNNNNNNNNNS(that's the sound of the record scratching.)
Seems some people think it's okay to NOT fix their side walks and if I were the sort of person who would take advantage of a situation such as this, I could be rich. But being I am NOT that way, i took my banged up left leg , (after all, now I have a matching set)
and took my pride and...... crawled to the French Bakery and WHAT a GORGEOUS place that was to recover! I don't know how these things tasted in the case but OMGOD, thy were beautiful.
We bought some danish(French ones), talked to the owner about a new sign and went driving down the Jersey side of the river, where I saw my favorite place,
The Golden Nugget Flea market!
Filled with flea marketers and all their junk!!! I used my injury for sympathy for getting what I want and I insisted we pull over and look. There is nothing quite like rummaging through other peoples old crap! We just may have found my kitchen benches! We didn't have our truck so we will meet the man next weekend We also bought a living rock. Its a cactus that looks and acts like a rock but grows flowers. indigenous to Africa! Thats it's protection from animals eating it. it poses as a rock!
Then off to our house in L town.UGH
We had some bagged Bertolli pasta for din din and then, at 9 PM what should come on in place of masterpiece theater? A whole documentary on Luciano Pavorattii!!! it was my lucky night! So i took some advil and laid with the heat pad with my new book AND Pavoratti.
PS I want to give a shout out to the Wonderfully Nice foreign speaking people who immediately gather me off the sidewalk! they were so incredibly nice and worried about me I wish I could have them as my friends. it's great to know there are people like this in the world. many other people walked past but they didn't hesitate one second, as if i were related to them!
