The beginning of today seemed to drag on forever. I woke up at 8, when my alarm went off. I don't know what I was thinking, setting it that early. I nodded off, but was well aware I did not have to go into work until 10. I got up again at 9, and then a third time at 9:20. I played with my dog for awhile to wake up, and then got ready for work. I stopped at WaWa beforehand to get some breakfast.
Breakfast: Croissant and some coffee
Sundays at AC Moore are the busiest days by far, which is strange considering you would think people would have better things to do. But as usual the normal group of annoying and strange customers showed up in steady waves. There were three notable people today. The first was a middle aged woman who, as my co-worker Jen was just walking up to the entrance of the store from the parking lot, flagged her down and asked her a question about things inside, products and the day's sale and such. The woman was standing next to her car, and had not made the effort to make her way inside yet. Jen at the time was in her blue shirt/uniform, but was wearing shorts and flip-flops. Needless to say, she was annoyed.
The second of the strange people came in the form of another woman, this time somewhat older, perhaps 50 or so. She walked into Jen's line (poor Jen) and was rung up. The woman herself wasn't annoying, but her wardrobe was frighteningly strange. She was wearing skin tight spandex pants which suctioned to just below her gut (which was very much exposed), and a white sports bra. She paid and Jen turned to me not knowing whether to laugh or cry. I asked her why she got to ring up all the cute girls, to which she replied, "I know, I would be jealous of me too....and her money wasn't sweaty or anything." I died laughing.
The last customer was just rude. There was a line of about three people, and she noticed another co-worker of mine, Eric, walking past, hands full of things which needed to be put away. She shouted hey you! and waved him over to her and proceeded to ask if he could go onto a register and do a return for her. He stared at her for a moment, looked down at his full arms, and then back at her, said no, and walked away. I compare that kind of situation to maybe going to Wal-Mart and seeing all of the registers being busy, and asking an employee if they can just open up a new one just for them so they can get out faster than everyone else, because the world revolves around them. Jerks.
Lunch: Three Volcano tacos from taco bell, mmmmm spicy!
8 hours dragged on and on and on and on and on until 6 o' clock rolled around. We got out at 6:15 after some cleaning and then I waited for Mer's brother to walk over. Once he arrived we sped of to her Aunt's house for a little get together. It was nice.
Dinner: Two hot dogs and a brownie.
We headed off from there around 7:30 I want to say. The thunder looked like it could roll in any second, and it did as soon as we hit the road. We got back to Mer's and watched some Deadliest Catch. I love that show.
I headed home and watched some more, enjoying some sweet tea while I watched. A splendid evening. Once work is over, I always find myself with a much ccheerier disposition.
P.S. - The blog isn't dead, unless YOU let it die.
