So what did I do this week? Well, it was actually somewhat eventful! On Monday I took a trip over to York, PA and visited my old store manager (Jim) at his new Starbucks with another one of my co-workers! It was quite the long drive...and I remembered much of it from going down to Millersville years ago...but it was a lot of fun. We stopped at this Dutch/Amish breakfast buffet, which was awesome! I really wish it was closer because it was like...the best breakfast ever! But we got to York, and saw Jim, and it was fantastic. We watched him work, and both reminisced of times when he was our boss, and when we felt like we were in good hands! Alas!! I know you all probably think I'm crazy for driving down there to see an old manager, but he was incredible!
Tuesday morning I woke up and went down to Philly. I'm helping a friend of mine shoot his movie every tuesday, so this is now a regular thing! I haven't actually read the script, but it's about gangsters or something...not my cup of tea, but it's fun working on it! Or at least most days I do! This past Tuesday wasn't all that fun because we were in one cramped room, and didn't start filming until 3 hours after I got there because we were waiting on an actress. Annoying. But afterwards I went to my good friend Chris Wehba's apartment! We talked about the movie I'm working on, and a few other things...and apparently I got so into it that I missed my train home!...and the next one...and the next one...oh, and the last train out of Philly! Whoops! So I just spent the night there. But I had chicken noodle soup, which was pretty welcoming that night!
Woke up pretty early the next morning, and caught the next train home! I had a movie to write after all...and writing is what I did! In fact, I used the next 4 days getting the script in squeaky clean shape! And while it can still use some more polishing, I have to say it looks pretty good to me! In fact, it's very close to being exactly how I pictured it! Now it's our job to bring that idea into existence! It's going to be a fun month.
But right now, it's just Sunday. And I sit here relaxing on my last day of vacation. I've been listening to Christmas songs a lot recently to try and get a feel for them, and to visualize them in the film (the movie takes place during Christmas by the way...). Don't worry, I'm not using any of the annoying ones! It's not so bad right now, but I'm sure come December, I'll hate Christmas songs with a burning passion! I have to be in at 6am tomorrow morning, so I won't be pulling a late night tonight...just a relaxing one. And that's pretty cool.
BREAKFAST: Bowl of Chex cereal. Sometimes you just can't beat a bowl of cereal! Also, a cup of Chai Tea with honey because I was really cold!
LUNCH: A peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Yum. Nothing too outrageous. Calm and relaxing...fitting for today! A few hours later, I had a second cup of tea because the first one was so good!
DINNER: Still waiting on dinner. We'll see what the future holds. But I can talk about last night! Last night we had cheesesteaks, which always makes for an exciting dinner! Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak for me. Delicious!
