The Calm Before the Storm

Today was quiet. Too quiet. And while some would see this as merely a day of rest, I see it as the foreboding of an upcoming storm. Yes, that's right. I am fairly certain that there is some dread, some horrible fate which awaits me for this upcoming week. But what is it? Oh wait...could it be? Yes...my darkest fears are confirmed. I have a Chemistry Test tomorrow. Curses! Last week was so blessed by the presence of Fall Break that we missed our Chem Lab. Of course it seems that victory was short lived, as now we have both an exam and Chem Lab. And worse than that, I am lead to believe that a Botany paper is due this Thursday. While my sources may be incorrect, I fear they are accurate. Yes indeed, it seems that the upcoming storm is inevitable and I very well may die. (That being said, I'm sure you all understand how reading Erik's blog about being home was like being smacked in the face!)

But no Onion must lose sight of the future, and it seems that the end of the week will be filled with joys and surprises! And so rather than lay in my bed today and cry about the army of Urak-Hai growing ever so stronger within the walls of Isengaurd, I pulled a Gandalf and jumped off a cliff only to return with cleaner robes, a fancy staff, and the lord of all horses! Ok...maybe that wasn't the best of analogies, but long story short...I took the day to eat as much as my body could physically handle so that I might be energized for the fight to come!

Breakfast: Oops...I slept through breakfast. Off to a great start, huh?

Lunch: Here we go!! NOW it's time to start preparing myself! For lunch today...they....served...breakfast. Hmm...has anyone ever heard of the saying "Kill two birds with one stone"?! Ah-ha! Take that biological clock! I loaded my plate full of pre-made belgian waffles and vegetarian sausage. Top it off with a nice cup of joe, and I've got a breakfast for champions! For second course (aka lunch) I had a salad...not the most bountiful of lunches, but breakfast had taken up all the room my stomach had to offer! The green lettuce, spinach leaves, croutons, and ranch dressing was tasty nonetheless.

Dinner: For dinner today, I hit up the upper deck! Now, if you find humor in the slightly repetitive use of the phrase "up", then I've done my job. If not, then screw you. Anywho, the upper deck was much more crowded than I thought it would be so late in the evening. I suppose it was since so many people were getting back after going home for the weekend. I saw New Bill and his entourage of female counterparts, but I did not eat with them on account of I already had a guest in which to dine with. I did however extend to them the traditional Onion high-five before moving on and finding a table. I sat down with the gentleman from across the hall, as neither of us had dinner yet, and we decided to accompany each other to make sure that neither one of us ate ourselves to death.

-rereads previous sentence-

Alright, I think that makes enough sense to move on! Fortunately, that plan worked, as the both of us survived the meal. I had about 40(slight exaggeration) baked potatoes, and a slice of pizza. He settled for 4 or 5 pirogies...which I hope is the spelling for that excessively Italian food...and a salad. We sat there for a good half hour eating and discussing N64 games. It seemed that he too had the same sixth sense which must have been blessed upon me, as he also sensed the upcoming week to be a storm. Maybe...just maybe...if I play my cards right, I can join forces with him and our combined strength can defeat the armies of Mordor!

Even though Gandalf insisted that courage is the best ally, I'm sure that the 7 foot guy from across the hall would be a whole lot more useful than not being afraid. I guess half of what wizards say is bullshit after all.

Shit, I just sneezed!
