Classic Thanksgiving Feast

Well, today is Thanksgiving and as all Thanksgivings go since I began to cook the feast instead of showing up and just eating a feast, this day begin EARLY. We had cleaned the carpet the night before.
Of course , I had coffee, and then some more coffee. Had a small headache as well but took some tylenol.
began to finish the final cleaning of the abode.
Lets talk about the menus. I Decided to made a few new dishes this year. Ole number 7 yams and brocolli casserole, recipies I got from Paula Dean and boy were they good. Get her cookbook. I know Im going to. (her story of how she began her business was very interesting) Also made the old favorites mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits, gravy,
So I began to prep the brocolli and the chestnuts for the stuffing. Cut the parsnip and carrots and onion, buttered, salted and peppered the bird and placed it in the over by 1:00
Then the pope and the president got up and we had Cinnimon buns and , more coffee together as a family. Before the rest of the cleaning continued.
By 3 pm, I was showered and ready to put out the port wine cheese ball, the hickory farms cheese stick and the sharp cheddar cheese for starters. I did little special things like cut the butter into teaspoon sized pats.
Table was set with the dishes we never use, table cloths we never use and the silver I inherited by my mothers 94 year old uncle who passed earlier this year. It hadent been used for 50 years. It was deco style and beautifull. Everyone had wine glasses. Spinkled fall leaves(fake) all ove rthe table and around the candle sticks with fresh candles places in them.
Mom, Uncle Billy , Ronnie and the new brown girlfriend(as they called her and she called herself) Benci arrived and we sat down to our dinner. Everything was done at the same time and nothing was burned.
we all drank, ate and got merrry listening to stories about my brother going into his backyard with a cross reenacting jesus scenes for his new girlfriend who really hasnt a clue what shes getting herself into. She told us of stories of his giant tortuses mating and maiing very loud noices, loud enough to make neighbors come over and ask if it was mating season for turtles, how Ronnie sleeps with a cock, (a rooster) yes a real one. We talked of homies, and nice things like that. Earlier in the night, I overheard my mother talking loudly about Patels and I almost had a nervous breakdown! I called my brother into the kitchen and asked, "Why the hell our mother was talking about Patels to an indian girl!" He just laughed and said that Denci had started this conversation and that she got my mother going on it!" TYPICAL.
It was a classic Friemann Thanksgiving(that was my maiden name) and no were not normal in anyway shape or form.
As you can tell, everything is perfect until the people are brought into the picture!

Normalcy sometimes equates with boring. Craziness is fun, and makes for a good story!
