well, the year 2007 has come to an end my fellow bloggers. We are now going to reflect on the years past and possibly form some goals for the year ahead of us.(at least we hope we will do things like this because after all, resolutions are made to be broken and relaly once a person is the way he/she is, can one really change their ways ?
I have had the benefit, that none off my fellow bloggers here at the What did you have for Dinner last night Blog, of many more years on the planet, which means more experience, more New Years Eves, more stupid TV shows that Ive lived through, Ill name one, ALF.
I remember the day when Chicken McNuggets came on the market, I was 18. There was such a thing as a computer but only IBM had them in their huge offices. There were no cordless phones or VCRs. If you wanted to play video games, there was this place called Space Port up the mall, which was lines with pac man and other pin balls machines, air hockey and Im sure pedophiles lurking.
I've done the "Im going to get better grades resolution, going to eat healthier and have veggies at every meal thing, the get rid of the no good for me boyfriend and move on, resolution, the loose 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, pounds routine, by excersize and eating healthy of course, routine.
Last year, I got a walkometer and I was going to walk every night and tally up my miles. and since i now had that and my IPOD to assist me and these bands of elastic that I was going to stretch between my floor and feet, loose my upper body bulk.
then a few weeks later, I saw that K-Mart had the total Gym on sale and I had just the amount of money to spend from Christmas gifts to buy it. And what better gift to give oneself than being a better you? Looking like Christy Brinkley and Chuck norris(I was going to be Christy and he was going to be Chuck).
This year of 2008, I say ____it! I ate pancakes for breakfast, and it was bisquick that was called heart healthy but it was such false advertisement because the only way this white flour product was healthy is if you use skim milk and egg whites and that my friends, is in small print! its the same mix or flour baking powder and salt! and its such a waste to only use the whites of an egg. I mean if I was a chicken, Ide be pissed!
At lunch I grabbed some Entenmanns soft chocolate chip cookies and some wheat bread, that I went to WaWa to pick up and I came home to use the turkey left over from Christmas eve. I put some liverwurst on it as well and when I took that first bite,I was grossed out. It had out lived it freshness. I chucked it and ate a piece of bread with butter.
For dinner, since it was New Years Eve, we were going to have pizza but something in me was craving a cheesesteak, a chicken cheesesteak no less, but when I got it, I realized I really dont like them. We also grabbed the creampuffs and eclairs and cheesecake from my Moms next door (she was with us eating the pizza etc, we didnt just go raid her pantry if thats what your thinking) and we feasted on that.
She neglected to mention to me as I left to go over and get the goodies , that she left her TV on in her back room, volume blaring, because when I walked into her kitchen , and heard the two men whispering to each other, I swore I had walked in on a robbery and my heart sunk into my stomach as I frantically tried to decide what to do and which way to run until I came to my senses and realized it was her TV!!
so, pizza and cheesesteaks gone, goodies eaten, what else is a person to do but walk the pugs at the school and since we had Emma and Pete as visitors, we had to get 4 of them into the car.
Task accomplished and being that we were forced to begin in a place at the school that wasnt usual for us, since there was once again, another dog walker at our spot, we confused the little buggers! they required much guidance.
The exciting part of the walk was when we were past the back of Toys R Us and almost at the back of Borders, we noticed the 2 cop cars parked besides one another"chatting" about creeping marauders, etc, when they suddenly spotted us and shined their spotlights on us, walking 4 unlicensed pugs and NON of them leashed! well, it was a field day for a cop! But they didnt confront us on any of those counts, they simply turned their lights off and continued with their "COP CHAT". There was a small let down that we just werent worth it. I did, in my mind, have thought about corruption and what "hey could" be talking about or passing from car to car to each other though.
so, we came home, most of you descended upon our abode about 10:30 and yoyu know what we all did, embarrassing as it was for you all to admit, but Dr Phil, he a genius among buffoons. Its not that hard to be.
I retired about 11:30 and I was awoken at 12:00 by the sounds of what sounded like hundreds of people screaming and yelling throughout the neighborhood, from streets way over, and it was soo cool. Fireworks, sound makers, voices, everyone is excited to be getting a fresh start at whatever they plan to do.
Happy New Years to you all!! And now I pass the torch to the 1st official blogger of the New Year, but I cannot remember the order so whever you are, stand up and take it!
