Preserves

Well a shout out to my new fellow bloggers...I only think Dan invited me so he could blog less, but it was also because I wanted to.

Anyhow, I rolled out of bed this morning for lab, so sadly there was no time for breakfast. Only for a quick wolfing down of a NutriGran bar in the elevator. However, we did make protein shakes in lab, out of delicious cow liver. I was tempted to take a quick sip of pink supernatent, but I controlled myself.

In the half hour break for lunch, I managed a taco made of beef, cheese, salsa, and tons of sour cream. They had no lettuce and it was a travesty. It was also very messy. I also grabbed a piece of pizza smothered in pepper and aregeno. It was an old piece, I think. Dessert was two delicious chocolate chip cookies with a quick down of coffee. That was my real lunch.

After some more depressing classes, I soothed my frazzled nerves by heading to starbucks where the minions on drexel's campus managed to ruin a white chocolate mocha with caramel and caramel drizzle. I think they forgot the caramel.

I wasn't planning on eating dinner, but there was this Honors dinner that I signed up for with my roomies that I forgot about. I went anyway because I thought it would be like an hour or whatever. I had to go meet my calc study buddy soon and I figured I could leave early. To my dismay, this dinner was no ordinary one. As I chomped on salad and about 3 heavily buttered rolls, a man lectured us on newly discovered dinosaurs. It was to say--not very appetizing. They didn't even bring out the main course yet when I had to leave...and the poor dinosaur man had only just got to the part over what the word dinosaur means (terrible lizard for those of you who were wondering/didn't know). The specially hired waiters were disgusted with me and judged me as I zoomed out of the room. I tried smiling apologetically but all I got was a dirty look as the waiter came to clean up the plates I used. (I say plates, because there were empty spots at our table with salad bowls already set out, so I just finished those too. Why waste?)

After exhaustive calc review, I sit here munching on a strawberry preserve and peanut butter sandwich, thinking about my 9th grade French teacher's strawberry preserves story. The dear lady went into some store in France asking for "preservitives fraises" (don't count on the spelling being right for that one) and the poor man at the counter turned rather red as he told her he didn't serve strawberry flavored condoms there. While such a story amuses me, it has changed my perspective on strawberry preserves...although not my taste for them.

Welcome Anna Matthew! It's so nice to once again have a fresh face on the staff.

So Fat Dan, we're doing the "Off Day" thing, right? Wednesday off, Thursday yours, Friday mine. Awesome. Either that, or we could consider adding Stacey as well. She said she might want to write in a comment on Ian's last post.

ANNA MATTHEW! Wonderful!
Welcome to the crew!

And I definitely remember that story about the strawberry condoms!

Oh right...and Stacey said she's more than up for it. I'm not very fond of the "Day Off" thing. It's a good idea and all, but I like keeping the flow! So I vote Stacey onto the team too. I can say with confidence that she'd make a good addition!

Dear Anna Mathew,

Welcome aboard! Don't mind the smell, don't try to open that door over there, and beware of your newly fellow bloggers. We now have moles in colleges all over the Eastern Seaboard. Sails away!

As for Stacey, someone get me her email address and I'll invite her over pronto. Full house!
