Well today began with the usual, coffee. Im back to watching the news in the AM. I was getting made fun of for the QVC.
The past few weekends Ive felt like shit. All stuffy, extremely tired. I came to the conclusion I had the winter blues, which Ive never had before but this year I do, but the nice weather these past two days have lifted me out off my depression.
Anway, Today we had to go to a viewing for our friend Bob, whos father died last week.
So, callous as this may sound, I ate a broccoli omlette with egg beaters of course and a slice of toast with butter spray on it. doesnt that sound great?
I know some people might not be able to eat at a time like that but I have no problems because I believe in life after death and I KNOW hes fine and dandy on the other side. end of story.
I also know, his family will be fine in a few months or a year. I know this because thats life and death is just a part of life and ive been there so I know things will be fine and its okay for me to eat my breakfast and go on enjoying MY life.
Spent a short time at the viewing and then had to go to work but we made a stop at Dunkins for more coffee. I paid in quarters. They laugh at me, I know. I do this everyday. I know that every business needs change because every stupid person drives through there and pays with a 20 or a 10 or some sort of bill. IM HELPING THESE PEOPLE OUT!
A newhabit I have is this. Everyday, the CFO who is from Britain , get the Wall Street Journal delivered to our building. He asked me if I could please email him when it arrives, which I did,.............. for a few weeks, but then , as things usually do for a person with ADD, it got boring for me and I began to write in the subject line of that email, the headline news......... from the World news weekly. This was a risk I know, but I am who I am. He thought it was very funny and had never heard of anyone reading this paper for fun like my family does. Someitmes , even though were speaking the same language, I have no idea what hes saying and I just look blankly at him. then he'll say hes kidding but I didnt know he said something funny and then I feel stupid or get paranoid. I try to keep our chats strickly email so that I can decipher what it is hes really saying
My last headline was'Hillary and Obama marry in Barbados over weekend" there has also been the pope meets bigfoot and solves worlds problems. I love this part of my job.
For lunch , lean cuisine pizza which is cardboard with sauce and some plastic on the top shaped like pepperoni. I took my Jane Austen and went to the purple sofa room and read Pride and Predjudice. One of the great things about my job is that everyone reads! Its awsome. We all talk about books. Then this one editor I found out, loves documentaries and Indie films too and we had so much to talk about!its awsome to work with people with advanced degrees!!
I bought raisonetttes for .90 cents!!! RIPOFF but I had losts of change so I did it. I just eat the chocolate and spit out the raisins.(I actually left just then because I recalled that I put the remainder of those in my purse so I went to get them. As I was looking through my purse I could smell the chocolate wafting up! Im eating the raisiins.)
Spent the day frying my brian learning a new program at work for librarians.Loving every minute of this.
Came home to a chicken baking and brussel sprouts cooking and two dog beds that had been peed on that I needed to wash.
We watched Garden State again because" Once" didnt show up form, yes my friends, NETFLIX!! I am a member!!! This is the movie that that song comes from "Falling Slowly" Its takes place in Belfast, street musicians, love story . I was looking forward to it, but Garden State is always great!!
so now I blogg. My husband has brought me a reeses peanut butter egg. Should I eat it after endurig the diet food all day?
YES! Im living my life! until I die(oh yeah, the peanut butter allergy)
OMGOD it was soooosoooooo gooood. the peanut butter tasted toasted, kind of like a burnt cheese it good! Im having another one(WHAT! they were small!

Very profound, Mrs. Gillies. Good post.
You should definitely form a Finer Things club and eat danishes and listen to classical music and wear HATS.
Pride and Prejudice = <3<3
I'm considering paying for everything in change now since I am rather broke when it comes to bills...I now know to appreciate people like you Mrs. Gillies, people who pay in quarters to give change to us bill users.
And p.s. Erik, Hillary is SO going to win. And after she digs this country out of the hole it's in, you can thank me for voting for her :D
Just so you know, Im not being a snob, because let me tell you, I do not have even half the degrees that these people have aquired but after working with morons for 3 years and having everyone look at me like I have 3 heads when I mention that I read yet another book last night or that i like odd movies no one has ever heard of,and having them laugh right at my face, its like being in nirvana at my new job where I fit in like a round peg in a round hole. To find another person who likes documentaries is very unusual!! that and the books!!! I love books!!!
As if, Anna Mathew. If Hillary Clinton is the 44th President of the United States, it will only furthur prove that the apocolypse is coming in 2012, as predicted by the Dolists.
Whereas if Obama is the 44th President, it will prove that the apocolypse will happen the day after he is elected, as told by Anna Mathew, who is far more qualified than the dolists.
Heresy? I think not!
tried to stay out of it but alas I I must speak.
HILARY SUCKS. If she wins i will vote republican.
How can you forget or overlook her criminal past and her transparent false concern for the people. She is concerned with only power and she stuck by her "husband" for the sole purpose of getting to run for president.
Obama has been doing good deeds since day one and not for what he could get out of it. Shes a SNAKE. She is vile, she makes me sick .
You are 100% correct Mrs. Gillies. Hillary has no resume outside of what Bill created her. Without being married to the President, she never would have been elected as New York Senator, much less have any sort of fame whatsoever. Why are you supporting a woman who rode her husband's coattails all the way to the top?
I HAVE ADD, TOOOOO!
TWINZZ
I CONCUR WITH DAN B.!
FINER THINGS CLUB!
ALL CAPS!
...
Screw you guys, I'm voting for Dole.
Obama may give florid speeches, but I know nothing of what he has done or plans to do. All I know is that he thinks he can change a system he has very little experience with. Although the media consistently ignores this fact and plays him up and bashes hillary.
I refuse to be played by the media. hillary as first lady of arkanssas initiated measures to improve child welfare, in medical facilities in the rural parts of the state, as well as making education in AK. As First Lady , she put a face to the role by initiating a universal health care bill that failed because of a Republican majority in Congress. She was one of the most active first ladies the US has seen that didn't sit around the Rose Garden pouring tea, but was involved in foreign policy decisions. She travelled the globe and from these visits learned the value of diplomacy.
She undoubtedly got some of this experience because she was married to the former Governor and then President, but she didn't have to go out and sit on committees and get involved. She could have been the ornamental wife (cough, laura bush), but she chose not to. She became a senator, elected by people who believe she can do the job and were satisfied enough with her to re-elect her.
So in summary, that is why I'm voting for Hillary Clinton. She may not be hip, young, or especially popular, but she has the experience and skill to deal with the situations that need to be fixed.
On a side note, Hillary stuck by her husband when he cheated, but who cares? So did Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, and numerous other first ladies and even normal every-day women. The only difference is that she's not letting her life be defined by something her husband did. Props to her.
Anna Mathew, I just wanna say, I respect you as a friend and a person, but you’re plain wrong! (Plus, this is my chance to join a debate since I barely said two words in Szczurowski’s debates.)
First, you admit you know nothing about Obama! How can you possibly say you’re unbiased or knowledgeable when you admit to knowing nothing about Obama besides his campaign for change? Obama certainly does have experience with changing entrenched systems, just not by using the types of tools Hillary uses. She’s all about the top-down, about bringing about change by becoming First Lady or Senator or hiring experts. Obama is all about bringing together all types of diverse peoples (yes, through inspiration in himself and OURselves). Ever wonder how some random junior Senator from Illinois has been able to thwart a former First Lady backed by a well-liked ex-President, numerous hired experts, and pretty much the entire established Democratic party? Because he’s able to get people to participate in politics who would have never considered it before. By harnessing this, he definitely can change a system in which Hillary Clinton is assuredly invested.
Who’s being played by the media? I’m not. I didn’t realize how much I like Obama because I read an article somewhere about how more charismatic he is (although yeah, Hillary is a cold, hard, calculating bitch). I realized how much I liked him by listening to him. Regardless, I see no reason to be angry that the media is just as inspired by Obama as I am.
You say that Hillary gained the precious commodity of experience pretty much by osmosis while first lady. Presidents’ wives don’t have any say in foreign relations, unless maybe they threaten their husbands with withholding sex – but we all know Bill found a way around that ;). I don’t believe that experience can be quantified, weighed, or compared by any means. Wasn’t it Bill Clinton who beat out George Bush senior for the presidency in 1992? Here’s a refresher course in Bush Senior’s resume (taken from wikipedia of course): member of the house of representatives for 4 years, US ambassador to the UN for 2 years, chairman of the RNC for 1 year, director of the CIA, vice president for 8 years, and president for 4. Yet, somehow, a random charismatic governor from Arkansas of all places beat him out for the presidency. This is all besides the fact that Obama is the only candidate left who has the common sense to commit to talking to leaders of foreign countries that have essentially been denied talks with (Iran, N. Korea, Cuba).
Two more things (don’t even get me started on electability!)
and I’m done. First, are you not bothered by the fact that a Hillary presidency would mean that this country will have been led by Bushes and Clintons for, at least, 20 years straight? How in the world can Hillary say she’s going to bring about change if we can’t even change the president’s name every once in a while? Second, the US is in a pretty crappy spot in the world right now. So many countries have lost respect in America as a result of, mostly, Iraq. I don’t think electing Hillary will change much in this respect. On the other hand, an Obama presidency is the perfect chance to reinvigorate America and even the world. Black father from Kenya, White mother from Kansas, born in Hawaii, lived in Indonesia, he IS the world. Haha yeah that last bit’s a bit weird, but this is still a chance that should not be passed up.
PS My comment's longer, I win :)
I eat the chocolate and spit out the raisins too!
Dan, thats exactly what I feel in a nut shell. there is something trustworthy in that man and frankly, if Oprah recommended him and I think alot of her and her good deeds throughout the world, then hes the man for me. Ide love to see a woman president but not that badly.I know that might sound silly to some of you , me bringing Oprah into this, she is a stand up woman and she relaly helped Obama.
Hilary is also hot headed and tempermental and no matter what is thrown at Obama, he remains calm and is always kind and a gentleman to his oponents and I love the fact that he doenst play dirty politics. He is wise enough to realize what that will get him. Hilary has a closet full of naughty deeds , how she caa point a finger is just beyond me and what about this Florida thing? why did she go there after agreeing not to, until she found she was loosing!!!then behind everyones back she went!!Obama didnt get to go because he honored his word not to go to states that werent following the rules.
She never counted on having competition and its really pissing her off and Obama is just being himself and he is gaining the publics trust on his own merit. She ffigured she played her cards right, moved to NY because ti was the biggest state sh could get the most delegates from and she knew she was gong to run for president which is why she put up with the dimwit embarrassment of a husband that she had, Why else would she continue to be associated with a man with such pathetic character flaws? You mean to tell me, youve reached the highest seat in the US and you cant keep your dick under wraps for a few years or discretly have your stupid affairs and not humiliate your country and your family? Do you know who much money was spent on investigating wether or not that asshole had an affiair? BILLIONS! He could have saved the country that money by being a stand up man and not the weasle that he is and shes just as much to blame. but she is a weasle too and she knew they had to play the marriage game so she could get what she wanted and she thinks this is her time and she earned this place in the white house but She didnt! Why didnt she move to Wisconsin, her home state from where she was born? Why not Arkasas, her beloved home for how many years? Because shes calculating ! She could care less about the people of New York.
And lets face it folks, CONGRESS runs the country anyway!!
If you really want a woman president how about Condoleeza Rice. that is a respectable woman who has a cool head and could run the country.
You really nailed it on the head there, Mrs. Gillies. I want the first female President to be a woman who actually earned her way up to the top, the old fashioned American way. In this election, Obama is the one who has built his own status.
Woo, nelly. I almost forgot this was a website about food!
