Indeed time passes us by way too fast in the summer. All this freedom and happiness always seems so short lived, and before we know it, it's time to get a job or head back to school. A shame really. But we can't all be teachers now can we. That would be nice I think. Getting the entire summer off, but still getting paid so well during the year. Can't really go wrong with that career if you like it.
Anyway, I digress. My days as of late have been spent writing my book and searching for jobs. Yes, I thought for most of the year that I was guaranteed a job at Aldo Shoes where I had previously worked, but the district manager cut everyone's hours and now my poor manager is working by herself morning to night most of the week. It seems silly to do such a thing, I feel like it would be bad for business. If you lost some capital by hiring back some employees you would still be able to tend to more customers, in theory you would make the money back in no time. But who am I to tell her what to do. I'm not an economist. I'm a Dolist.
So the job hunt began with FYE. I completed their online application and am hoping to hear back from them. In the meantime I am thinking of all the alternatives to that store. There are a lot, yet at the same time a limited few. Some stores such as Abercrombie don't hire people unless they are particularly good looking. Unfair? Yes. Better for business? Probably. If the shirt of skin-deep materialism fits, wear it.
In other news, the book is coming along well. I'm on the last chapter, trying to finish it with my goal length of 120 pages. We shall see how close I can get to that. I still feel as though that is too short that If by the grace of Dole it were to get published some day (which I may look in to if I get enough of a good response about it) people would just pass on by it. Then again, sometimes a shorter read is a better one. We'll see. I'm just trying to get it done and not disappoint anyone with a poorly written ending. That would suck. A good book ending crappily. Not mine! It will be good, I assure you all. Or at least those of you who care.
Now, onto what you all came here to see. The Food.
Breakfast: What the hell is that?
Lunch: Buffalo Chicken sandwich and a pepsi.
Dinner: BBQ Ribs with some Macaroni and Cheese. So good. And of course a tall glass of Milk. My favorite (next to Mountain Dew). Ironic how one is so good for you and the other is terrible. Oh well. You only live once.
