Great Burger

My morning was odd in that my partially awake state noticed the familiar voices of Preston and Steve, hosts of 93.3 WMMR's morning show, chatting leisurely in my room. I didn't really know if it was part of my dream or real, but eventually I vaguely watched as my mother came in and turned off the radio. They say you learn something every day, and that proverb has validity today: setting my alarm to music will not successfully wake me up. Not that I was planning on waking up early today -- I must have set it by mistake.

Mom took Susan to the dentist this morning, and when they got back, we all ventured to Sam's Club for some good old fashioned shopping. We were planning on just eating free samples stationed across the store, which would form a makeshift lunch of sorts, but the disappointing lack of appealing samples forced us to change this plan. In fact, the only free sample display we saw had little plastic cups filled with nutrigrain looking balls. No thanks. After coming back down the next aisle, we saw a couple of young girls who had taken the sample, walked a few feet, and proceeded to spit it out in the trash can right in front of us. I think we chose wisely.

Lunch:
We got a frozen pizza at Sam's Club, which I ate for lunch once we got home. On the side, I had sour cream & onion potato chips, which we also got from Sam's Club.

In the afternoon, I had a healthy mix of Game Show Network, ESPN, the innerweb, and a bike ride. When Dad got home, we went on an adventure to the ends of the world to a burger place we had a coupon to, called "Great Burger."

Dinner:
I don't know how long I was driving, as the minutes and roads seemed to blend together in my memory, but I vowed to stay strong on the straight path. We finally arrived at the strip mall in which Great Burger resided, and I pulled into a parking spot, bumped my head as I got out of the car, and dizzily waddled (like a penguin) through the door. This place called forth the memory of Fuddruckers. You order your burger, get a number, and wait at a table for your number to be called. An old, friendly gray man took our order while advertising his famous, never frozen french fries. We listened and asked for a couple baskets. They were delicious. As for the burger, you can order any number of toppings from an extensive list, free of charge. I only ordered mayonaise on top, but my burger filled my stomach with joy. What a Great Burger. Take a look for yourself:

Dessert:
When we got home, we impulsively made chocolate covered pretzel sticks, with sprinkles and M&M's on top. Nothing is better than chocolate covered pretzels. It's the supreme hybrid of sweet and salty.

I do too!! I voted twice (so far)!

pshhhh I go to BJ's not Sam's. I don't think they give AS many free samples. But think about the location!! Right near Barnes and Noble!

P.S. is it Ian's turn to blog??
