What is today? Saturday? Ok...that means I was supposed to blog on Friday. Got it! This whole week has been a blur, and I think it's safe to say that it has been the first case of my losing track of time and being completely out of it this summer. Hell, I'm surprised I made it to work when I needed to! But yes, enough banter...lets set back time to yesterday!
I woke up yesterday with the fact in my mind that I would be working later that afternoon. That's never a happy feeling, but it's always better once I get there and actually start working, so I just ignored it. I got up and came downstairs to get breakfast as I typically do before work. Of course it was just about lunch time, so it might not even count as breakfast. Ah well...whatever! When I talk about getting ready for work, it never sounds very interesting so I'm gonna try to phrase it in a more self-gratifying way. In the hours before going to work, I was helping provide better sanitation standards, upholding the law against indecent exposure, and helping solve world hunger. All in a day's work.
And speaking of work, that's exactly where I was headed. Now normally they have me working until close, which can get kinda tedious. But today I had what must have been the easiest work shift in all Starbucks history. 3-7! A good 4 hour shift, which no additional "opening or closing" duties! Just man the deck! I got there to find quite a few people who I had yet to meet. I've been there for like a month and still haven't met everyone! Unfortunately for my socialization, it was very busy and I found myself working in cahoots with some guy I had never spoken to before! And introduction would have to wait until AFTER coffee was served.
It was a pretty uneventful day. I am starting to pick up on some of the regulars. For example, I'm almost 90% certain that my 7th grade teacher Mrs. Andrusko comes in every day and gets a Chai Tea Latte and a Non-Fat Latte, both with no foam. I mean...I'm not completely sure, but I'd put money on it! Also there's this one guy who comes in like every half hour. He has a registered Starbucks card or something, so all of his coffee refills are free. On top of that, he brings his own mug, so I don't think he even buys the original coffee, but rather just leeches off of free refills all day! And I mean all day! He gets coffee (he only likes the bolder stuff) and he goes and sits outside till he's done. Then he gets more! I seriously want to know what this guy does other than drink coffee at Starbucks! He's there all day!
Well I got home from work at 7 and brought my dear mum her Chai Tea Latte. Thankfully they gave me Saturday off, but that was probably only to give me time to prepare myself for my unholy 4 AM shift on Sunday. -shudder-
I got home just in time for the ordering of Pizza. We got it from Pizza Hut. Wow, is that place a rip off. We got 2 pizzas, and good thing! The box is about half the size of any other pizza box I've seen, and the pizza only takes about half the room in the box! Come on! It's not even real pizza! It's like half grease! I just don't see what the hype is about Pizza Hut.
So that was our dinner. And I'm sure that all of you know...wherever there's food, there's Fat Dan! Fat Dan made a surprising guest appearance conveniently in time for pizza. The plan was to play Chess, but we instead ended up playing Starcraft. Which of course attracted more leeches! A band of men fresh out of a con-fangled heavy metal concert decided that they wanted to stop by and play Starcraft. I don't know how they can all go, as Erik so wonderfully put it, subject themselves to bantering noise as long as they did, but to each their own!
A game of Starcraft quickly escalated into about 4, and for any of you who know how long a Starcraft game takes, you'll understand why that lasted until 3 in the morning. And what could we possibly do at 3 in the morning? Well the diner of course. Once we got to the diner, I think our brains were so full of fatigue that we all went insane for a little bit. I remember talking about Dinosaurs and the meaning of life and artificial sweeteners and all sorts of interesting tidbits of information! I also remember explaining my theory of sleeplessness, which is a theory I came up with some years back that a human could become immune to "tiredness" by slowly administering themselves with slightly increasing amounts of "tired" over a period of time. Eventually, you'll never need to sleep again! You would be immune to "tired"! Think about all the extra time you would have that gets wasted on sleep! Fascinating theory I think...if you want, I can go into depth, but the government has strongly urged me not to. The trick is Immunity before Insanity.
Well we got home at like...4 or so and it took an hour to get Ray and Fat Dan to leave, so by the time I was free to blog, I didn't really feel like it! I'm sure you all understand and I hope I have made up for it with this latest adventure.
Breakfast: Toaster Strudel! Strawberry and Cream Cheese flavor. Those things are like crack.
Lunch: For lunch I didn't really eat anything, but I did reap the benefits of unlimited free drinks at work! Iced Venti Caramel Macchiato! Delicious, I suggest you all try one!
Dinner: Pizza Hut in all its greasy glory. I think I had like 3 pieces which, ignoring the great pizza eating contest of 07, was the most pizza I've ever eaten in one sitting!
Diner: hehehe...dinner...diner...ha! Sorry, that's some of the insanity of last night leaking through. I had a root beer and cheese fries. A nice 3 in the morning snack.

Toster strudel is yummmmy. Even if the crust is too thick. I'm willin to overlook it.
