The 6th of July

Well, here I am posting on the 6th of july, like a good American.
I can't believe this but I have to admit that I actually forgot about the blogg for days at a time. I am sorry, please forgive me, I know not what I do.
so, today I had coffee and a piece of Wheat bread with blueberry preserves.
If there is one great thing about July , it's that it is BLUEBERRY season!! YAY. I love blueberries and all that goes with them. I love blueberry pie and jams and blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, compote, hell they are even pretty little things to look at!
and next weekend I hope to be picking blueberries on a farm in New jersey(the Garden State) with my farmy gardening friends.
We are going to get up early in the AM, get some coffee and go. After we will have some breakfast in some Jersey diner somewhere i do hope, and then off with our many berries to freeze them and make our pies and muffins etc. I eat blueberries ike they are going out of style in July
Hammonton NJ is the Blueberry Capital of NJ. They even have a blueberry festival(which I missed because I was touring gardens in Bordentown that weekend. That weekend I walked the Historic town of Bordentown for hours in the heat and walked into peoples back yards, some of them as small as a psotage stamp but filled to the hilt with plants and arbors and yard furniture. One was even named "Little italy " garden in memory of her dead father. I don't know really what made her garden particularly Italian, but whatever. Some of the people had ponds with huge coi in them and there were two gardens on the tour that provided refreshments and thank Dole because it was hot.
It was Lemonaid at both houses but one offered pretzles and one offered cookies and I thought if my house is never on a garden tour, I will remember to offer drinks and food because it's tiring AND it makes you like their garden even better!!

But anyway, I will keep you posted on the Blueberry Picking things beause i want to see what other types of folks come out to pick them too and I know you will all wait on the edge of your seats as well waiting for this info.
In the fall there is a Cranberry farm that has a festival and you can go to this and watch them flood the boggs( I know, so close to bloggs) and harvest the Cranberries. i am very excited about this since I didn't even konw of this process until about 2 years ago, which is cool. I love learning new things.

Lunch, I made this huge vat of egg salad because I had way too many eggs in the fridge so,egg salad it was. And now were making this make your own pizza kind of thing and im suddenly starving.

For fouth of July we did nothing and went no place. I was very happy about that. We made some fettucine alfredo at around 8 pm and then drove to Connies for ice cream and we were the only people there. It was cool. We sat by the window of strange things that they sell and ate our ice cream until the rain kicked in and then we went home to our books. 4.99 for a gallon of ice cream at the store, paying 15.88 for icecream for four people on fourth of july........ priceless.
After that we came home and I retired to my reading area(my bed) with my book.
I am re reading "Special topics in Calamity Physics". I love this book. In this book she is constantly quoting lines from other books . I love this. it's about a senior high school girl and her professor father moving to this town in NC. Her mother died years back and its just been her and him and they dont stay anywhere very long and theres a reason for that.
its kind of a mystery. i love this book.
Also I can reccomend'Heartbreaking work of a Genius" or something like that. there's a word missing from that title but I can't recall what it is.
so im eating my pizza right now and its really good for a make it yourself thingy.
i also might as well pass on a musical selection for you all too that I have become obsessed with this week.
CLARINET CONCERTO A K 622 Adagio Its Mozart. I love it, you can hear it on youtube if you like.
well see you all, sorry for skipping for so many days,
"I think it's lack of discipline"..........

lolol Thats too funny!
Where is Moms at? I'll try it.
Once two years ago, I went to Connies and they had pumpkin pie ice cream and it was homemade and had peices of crust in it and I had it with hot fudge and whipped cream! It was the end of Septemeber, I had just found these cool vintage halloween decorations, the smell of fall was in the air.... I thought I would go out of my mind!!!
See what one good experience will do? Plus I LOVE Maple Avenue, driving past the historic homes, wishing I lived in the one with the Swedish flag hanging on the front of it.
I turn everything into a romantic journey. I also have these HUGE rose colored glasses.
