Ya, Ya Un Glockunschpiel does this mean you ask?
I really don't know but it's one of the only things I can say in German. I think it means "Yes Yes a Glockunschpiel" which is an instrument.
I can also say"The Coffee is good" in sign language.
Now how would I know that one you ask? C'mon!! I'm the coffee goddess of this site.
Actually, it was a line from a movie I saw in 1980 called,"If you could see what I hear" with Michael Ontkean and Amy Irving.
she plays a deaf woman who is waiting for a bus in New York City when she happens to glance up into the window of a building which just happens to hold a small do it yourself recording booth where, low and behold, Micheal Ontkean is singin his heart out, recording a song he wrote, as he is a painting contractor or something like that by day but a musician wanna be.
their eyes meet, she laughs at him singing, he smiles back, they fall for each other, she gets on her bus and leaves and then he must run after her bus to get one and catch her. he runs for blocks and finally gets on and sits next to her only to find......
shes deaf.(oh I guess I told you that part to early)
so anyway, he thinks shes pretty cool despite her deafness and begins to try and date her, learns a few phrases in Signing and gets himself invited for coffee at her house where he tries out his phrase one her, which is"The Coffee is good". He also learned,"How was your day"? (That one didn't stay with me I'm afriad)
and that is the story of how I came to know that particular phrase. I was 15. It was a romantic movie. Who knew Ide be this in to coffee? Who knew I'de still be thinking about this c movie for this many years!
Ive used the line (silently)many times.
Now some of you, who have known me, know this about me, but for those who don't, I am a movie line/song lycric freak. I talk in movies all day long naturally. Some of them are old some new and there are those that I havent heard yet that I will someday and I will use them as well, but one day, a few years ago I decided that I will only talk in movie lines. I thought i should do something with all this un needed knowlegde that i store in my brain.
Only those who know the movies or me for that matter will understand what I mean. Someone says something, it makes me think of a line or a song and out it comes.
Someday, when you visit me at the nursing home, I will only talk to you in lines so study up!
See that line up there at starts wth Actually? well when I re- read that, it made me think of a line from the movie Prancer, when Jessica Riggs says to someone, "Prancer Actually". so I'll say it.
I guess it's kind of a compulsion in a way but it can be very fun for me and for anyone who knows what I'm talking about.
so, back to food. which is why were all here.
Breakfast I had 2 plums and an English muffin with butter.(Kellers!) (butter commercial)massive amounts of coffee to counter act the allergy meds.
lunch, mac and cheese frozen meal. smart ones. Plain M&M's.
dinner has yet to materialize. Ive made more coffee though. Pizza might be on the horizon.
so that is the post for me this week dear hearts.
