SEA ISLE CITY PART DEUX

Sunday morning at 10 A.M. me and Mer got on the road and sped off toward New Jersey. This was my first "vacation" all year and I could not have been more excited. After about an hour and a half we arrived in Sea Isle City. We hopped out of the car and rushed upstairs where we joined Mer's family for a nice trip over to the beach. Their house which they rent every year is only a block from the beach and it is wonderful. We wandered around and ran into both Mer's aunt Susan and her family, who we hung out with later, and in the other direction we ran into her Uncle, Aunt, daughter Jen, and her boyfriend who everyone made fun of for being old, all of whom were up from Florida for the week.
We stepped onto the beach around 12 o' clock and stayed there until about four and for the first time in a long time, I was able to successfully sit on the beach and not get sunburn. We enjoyed some nice sun and bright blue skies. The waves were big and the water was cold. I loved every second of it. We headed back to her house and had dinner. It was a good ol' time. Lots of funny jokes passing around the table.

Dinner at the shore: Tacos. Lots of Tacos.

Once dinner was finished me, Mer's brother, and her Dad sat on the couch and watched Air Force One. A classic Harrison Ford movie where he (as usual) has to save his family. It was entertaining either way. After that we all went out for some ice cream.

Ice cream at the shore: Blueberries and Cream. Never had it before but it was goooood.

After the ice cream we went over to Mer's Aunt's house. She was staying only one street over from Mer's and we all got together and played a game of catchphrase. It was really really fun and I wish I could have stayed another day and played again because we were all laughing hysterically the entire time. Around 11 o' clock we headed back home. When we got in, everyone decided it was time for bed and got into their jammies, ready to hit the hay.
Mer woke me up the next morning by jumping on me after a run. Needless to say she was quite sweaty, but I didn't mind. We all got ready and headed back to the beach again. We took in the sun and went for a nice long walk along the beach. Mer's grandmom stopped by and sat with us for awhile. We had some sandwiches on the beach for lunch.

Lunch on the beach: A delicious Turkey sandwich.

After several more hours on the beach, we went back to the house to shower and have dinner. We watched some of the Tour de France, and then sat down for dinner.

Dinner at the shore II: Salad, rice, and some chicken. Good stuff.

Once seven o' clock rolled around, which in my opinion came all too soon, it was time for me to head off. I packed up my stuff and drove off into the sunset, literally. Speeding down the Garden State Parkway, I pulled into the toll booth, which was only for one dollar, to find that it only accepted quarters. I didn't have any on my person at the time, so after sitting there for about 10 seconds going "uhhhhhhhh...", I tossed a dollar bill into the thing and sped off toward the Atlantic City Expressway. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a ticket for that.
I made it home in exactly an hour and a half, and once I got home I headed off to bed, already regretting having left the shore. I want to go back already and can't wait to go to Cape May in August. Oh how I've missed the beach.
