But I have totally diverged from the topic of this blog (which I have been so graciously invited to join -- thanks, Dan!): What I had for dinner... Well, here goes. Tonight for dinner I cut apart and devoured an entire avocado. I kept thinking, this isn't ripe all the way through, it's kind of crunchy in the middle, and eating it anyway. I always do that with food: I think about how something I'm eating isn't really that good but I finish it up because it's good enough and it's there. When we're busy and distracted by life's issues, food sometimes just becomes something to gulp down, instead of slowly tasted and savored.
I tell you what I have learned tonight: next time I want to eat an avocado, I will wait for it to ripen fully before I cut it open. I will be patient and I will savor the taste of its ripeness. This, I deserve.

Welcome welcome! A very welcome special guest blog!
I'm pretty sure I could look at internet memes all day...in fact, I do.
Welcome!
You should check out www.cakewrecks.com. Its cake-centric "nailed-it" style journalism is top notch.
